Job Title: Accounting Manager
Location: North Hills, Raleigh, NC

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager will join a growing team that currently provides accounting and compliance services to 200+ early-stage companies. A successful Accounting Manager will collaborate with clients and team members to provide excellent accounting and compliance services that add value. The position reports to the Director of Accounting & Compliance and oversees the work of Staff Accountants.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of Accounting and Compliance engagements.

  • Provide GAAP and grant accounting expertise.

  • Provide full-service accounting support for small and medium-sized businesses.

  • Provide compliance advisory services for large firms with government awards.

  • Review journal entries and financial reports.

  • Prepare depreciation schedules, revenue recognition calculations, journal entries, and other schedules.

  • Ensure client’s internal controls are implemented correctly and operating as intended.

  • Provide monthly financial reports and analysis to clients.

  • Support Clients’ government grant accounting reporting needs.

  • Lead new clients through the process of establishing a chart of accounts and an internal control framework that follows federal granting agency regulations.

  • Guide clients through the process to draw funds from awarding agencies.

  • Prepare indirect rate agreements and incurred cost submissions and represent clients in indirect rate negotiations.

  • Provide expertise in complex accounting & compliance scenarios, such as equity bookings, lease agreements, inventory.

  • Support clients through financial statement and regulatory audits.

  • Contribute to the development of internal policies and procedures.

  • Lead and mentor a team of staff accountants.

  • Lead internal process improvement projects.

  • Collaborate with clients to resolve complicated accounting and compliance issues.

  • Mentor Senior Accountants.

  • Advanced excel skills.

  • Ability to identify potential process improvements, create solutions, and implement efficiencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting
